Before you make your podcast...
Please, research other podcasts (I prefer the ones by the major organizations or companies...) or else your audience would be very limited.
Make sure you don't go off-topic, it wastes time from your podcast and distracts from the content of the specific thing you chose your podcast to be on. Being professional actually attracts the majority of podcast listeners.
Never put royalty required (artist-created) songs that you don't own the rights to in a podcast. Instead, use PodSafe music that is royalty free.
And if you don't plan to make your podcast as one with a wide audience, still keep in mind these rules if you do plan to expand your audience.
