You know you're obsessed with "Portal" when...

You see a cake, some chocolate sauce in a nozzle, a clean decorative plate, and you do this:

You can see a Turret, a Portal, the Aperture Science logo, and a GLaDOS core from the final boss.

And obviously, the cake is not a lie in this picture.

ALERT: Possibly going to enter Zoomfest/contest for IG Community day

Garland approached me today asking for help in the annual 48 hour student film festival called Zoomfest. However, this coincides with Insomniac Games' Community Day event where it's like an open house to fans of Insomniac aged 18 and over. Zoomfest topics and objects are announced at 5PM on IG Community Day and must have finished films done at the drop-off point by 5PM on Sunday.

Here are my dilemmas: I might be entering a raffle for a all-expenses paid trip to the Insomniac event, but at the same time, If I win that, I have to come back in time to help with Zoomfest. Another issue is the lack of the ability to create original music. Sure, the script can be handled by the others but music is the main issue with our crew. My arch enemy has a dedicated musician, we don't.

I also had a request to start filming on a behavior training video for the same weekend. But that's flexible so it's not that big of a worry.

Someone is worse off than me...

from: http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_3049207.html

"Bomb threat after Price is Right rejection

Police evacuated part of a San Francisco skyscraper after a man angry that he had been turned down by the The Price is Right threatened to blow it up."

Heard this first as a joke on (a possible repeat of) Jay Leno, NOT FUNNY. But I should be lucky the Bang Bang conflict has not gotten to this.

Amazing Coldplay performances on SNL!

But one issue, one song was cut due to time constraints: Lovers in Japan

4 songs in one show, this ties U2's record of 4 songs (3 full songs, one cut due to time).

The songs were: Viva La Vida (RCF:TOD Sizzle Reel song), Lost!, Yellow (A Classic Song), Lovers in Japan (Good substitute for the RCF:Q4B Hoolefar Island roaming music)

The reason for 4 songs? They knew the show would be nothing without Coldplay so less effort went into sketch writing and more into praying Coldplay saves the show. Probably the same happened with U2.

Of course, any show with Coldplay on is guaranteed a ratings spike due to their popularity...

Well, here's a video I can put aside my anger to...

Yup, it's from you know who, Bang Bang.

This video does set aside my anger for the time it's on, but bitterness might come back if I think back to the day I got that e-mail...

I think a earthquake safety video is now in the works... or an alternate opening to this video (much easier due to my bitterness towards them)...

Coldplay on next week for SNL, new Coldplay EP coming soon.

Best to get my equipment ready that night (8:30PM)

Also, best to play through a full round of Ratchet and Clank Future (BD version) again to get the mood set.

There's also a new EP coming soon of songs that weren't ready in time for Viva La Vida, I'll try to check that out.

and in the words of Cron-Z:
"Regular blogging will start again soon... promise!"

...Well... it will at least be updates on the Extreme Activities Competition production.

Even Garland wants peace with Bang Bang...

During the shooting of our SNL parody, Garland brought up he was a friend to those in Bang Bang and would love to act for them. Still not over the guys, I just couldn't shrug off my bitterness. He tried to convince me of trying to be peaceful (though he did threaten to quit production if I still hated them). Trying to do that, I tried to pat both Riun and Cody on the back in the halls, but that bitterness would not go away...

Garland also shared a tragic story to me about him that will change my perception of him forever. That is under a self NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) to the public, but I might share this with Jeff and Steven at CBI.

Oh, when will this bitterness end???

Production halted

I can't find a referee shirt for Brendan for our referee scenes so production is at a standstill. Also the "Becoming Anne" scene is in peril of being removed cause Garland won't agree to wear a suit unless I provide him with one.

Not to mention on top of that more problems with my overclocked computer freezing on Vista boot-up after a long time number crunching. I tried reducing the FSB to within specs, still froze after 6 days of fine boot-ups.

Update: Referee shirts might be available in our PE department (along with whistles) and I'm trying my computer's Vcore at a lower voltage to see if it won't freeze again.

New Video idea

Remember that SNL sketch from last Saturday with the "Extreme Activities Competition"?

A parody of that is now under pre-production and shooting will commence very soon with Garland and Brendan and Amrit.

Basically, the style is just like the "People getting Punched just before Eating" video: No dialogue, heavy use of titles, and cheezy techno that sounds like it was made in Garageband.

As always, The title will be "Extreme Activites Competition Burnaby South Edition".

More updates as this production progresses.
